Weekend Wrap-Up And My Health Journey

Hello, all!! I hope you had a great weekend…and Monday, as I didn’t get around to this post yesterday.

Our weekend was fun, and full of family time.

We had a relaxing morning, followed by a fun afternoon at the park. K is getting so brave and has a blast at the park! My husband got tired chasing her around haha.

The rest of the day was spent reading, and more playing outside.

Once K went to bed, we made dinner, played a game of Clue, then started the show Mindhunter. We have enjoyed it so much!

We got up, had coffee, then headed to the zoo. We had such a good time together! My husband rarely gets to come with us because we usually go during the week when he works. We loved having him there!

That afternoon was full of more playing with our energetic toddler.

For dinner, we made a sausage skillet! It was so tasty!!

That was our lovely weekend! Now moving on…

I have had some stomach issues and exhaustion for a long time. I decided to try to take control of my health a few ways.

1) I started taking all natural oils for gut health, and another for fertility. This brand is wonderful and describes every ingredient.

2) I started Whole 30! It is only day 2, but I have heard great things about the results. I am hoping to find out a little more about potential foods that make me feel bad. Once I get a little further along in the process I will update!

That’s about all for today! I would love to hear if any of you have tried Whole 30, and what your results were.

Have a wonderful week,

With love,

Guest Post: How To Maintain Your Health (And A Healthy Outlook, While You’re At It)

Hello, everyone! I am very excited about today’s guest post, as health is so important. Please enjoy this post written by Jennifer from and visit her page!

How to Maintain Your Health (And A Healthy Outlook, While You’re At It)

We all recognize the importance of keeping yourself and your family healthy. The real challenge is in getting it done. After all, a full and busy life can leave little room in the schedule for must-have healthful activities like exercise and sleep, while eating healthy takes more effort than simply grabbing a quick yet often unhealthy fix. And of course, let’s not forget the unseen and often unacknowledged threats to your overall well-being, as well.

But the fact of the matter is, leaving your health unchecked can do more harm in the long run with zero amount of good, so it’s a must to really do something about it. The good news is, it’s only the ‘getting started’ part that’s truly challenging. Moreover, as you ease into the habit, you will not only find that it’s doable but maybe even wonder why you didn’t make these lifestyle changes sooner. So without further ado, let’s take a closer look at the practices you need to maintain, so you can, in turn, maintain a healthy life.

Maintain tried-and-tested health practices.

Chances are, you probably already have a good idea of what you need to do for a healthier, fitter body. At the most fundamental level, this entails honoring the trifecta of good health—that is to say, clean eating, regular physical activity, and sufficient sleep.

It’s common enough knowledge that the food you consume on a regular basis affects your weight, your immune system, your mood, and pretty much how efficiently your body works as a whole. However, eating healthy does entail a great deal of work—and, in some cases, cost—which is why it can be all-too-easy to turn to junk and processed foods. But the fact is, it can be as easy as mindfully choosing fresh and clean food, which is made easier with services like Costco’s grocery delivery.

Maintain a healthy daily routine.

Moving on, how you spend your days also figures heavily in keeping you healthy. It goes without saying that you need to cultivate healthy habits and keep to a wholesome routine not just to keep yourself in tiptop shape, but for the sake of your mental well-being, as well.

As mentioned, regular exercise is part and parcel of good health, so it will serve you well, indeed, to make it a part of your day-to-day. The good news is, you don’t even need to spend on costly gym memberships or spend time traveling to and from a fitness center. There are, in fact, plenty of ways you can get fit at home, which is great when you’re pressed for time and other resources. This can be as easy as an online yoga class, or maybe even by investing in home workout implements like kettlebells to take your workouts up a notch.

And of course, don’t forget the importance of consistently getting a good night’s rest. Not only does it help fend off weight gain and diseases, but it also keeps your brain function at its peak—not to mention, making you so much happier overall.

Maintain a healthy and positive home.

Finally, know that your home, in itself, contributes to your overall health, too. The fact is, too much negative energy that comes from arguments, criticisms, complaints, and the like can be a real downer for your wellness. This makes it very important, indeed, to clear bad energy and invite positivity by cleaning and decluttering your home, or even simply letting in delicious, fresh air.

Of course, as you keep your home clean, do pay attention to the cleaning products that you use, as well. You may not realize it right away, but most everyday cleaning items are chockfull of harmful chemicals, which can wreak havoc on your health in the sidelines. It’s definitely prudent to be mindful of this and choose products that are made of natural ingredients.

Suffice it to say, getting healthy will entail some key lifestyle tweaks and, yes, likely some discomfort at first. However, if you stay on the course and do your best to keep it up, it won’t be long before you start reaping the health benefits. As they say, health is wealth, so consider these your investments.

Our Lake Vacation

Hello, everyone! I hope all is well. We are home and settled from vacation. Every year, we spend a week at Gun Lake in Michigan with my husband’s family. We always have a blast, and K got to jetski and tube this year! The weather was hot, but luckily we had a lot of shade. The cabins don’t have air, but we had fans, and the evenings cooled down quite a bit. We all needed the vacation, and a break from reality for a bit.

K fell asleep on the tube, but woke up waving haha. It was so cute!

The baby pool was a hit, and K played with the other littles. They had a blast, and the giggles were the absolute cutest.

The jetski was definitely K’s favorite (just like her mamma).

We also went boating, and swam in the lake.

We literally had SO much food! My mother-in-law goes all out. Here’s just a couple meals out of many!

Most days I ran around the lake. The road surrounding it has a lot of hills, so it doesn’t take long to get a good workout in.

The other days I did some excercises with my kettlebells.

*We played lots of games: cornhole, yard pong, texas horseshoes, etc.

*K went crazy for bubbles, and her new kids fishing pole.

*In the evenings, we sat outside and relaxed.

Overall, it was a wonderful week!

Now it is back to reality.

Have a wonderful rest of your Sunday!!

Workout Wednesday- Kettlebells and Stairs

Hello, all! I hope everyone is doing well. Life is good around here. It has been so nice being able to see some friends and catch up!

Anyway, I officially cancelled my gym membership. As much as I love it, this pandemic showed me that I can get good workouts done at home, and save a ton of money. Since K was born, I only went a couple days a week, and the cost wasn’t justified at that point. I am so happy with my decision.

That said, I am going to share my favorite workout from the week.

I used 10 pound kettlebells and the stairs from my deck.

5 min warmup (I did the elliptical)

Circuit 1:

*Stair hops

*12 squats

*12 arm curls

*12 upright rows

Repeat 3 times

Circuit 2:

*Stair hops

*12 lunges + 12 lunge pulses each side

*12 deadlifts

*12 overhead triceps

Repeat 3 times

Circuit 3

*Stair hops

*12 push ups

*12 booty pulses each leg

*12 squat pulses

Repeat 3 times

I also jogged around the house in between rounds!

That’s all for today! Sending love to everyone during these hard times.

A Few Fit Favorites And Some Other Random Fun

Hello, all! I hope you are staying healthy and happy with everything going on. The sunshine sure is helping around here! Being able to be outside has been wonderful for us

The baby loves taking walks in her truck and ask for “truhhh” all the time.

I have also done a lot of outdoor workouts, which have been awesome. It helps with my motivation, that’s for sure.

This week has been all about bands. I used them when I was pregnant, and have just gotten back into using them! I have been finding tons of workouts on YouTube. I like to bring the baby monitor outside while I workout.

I also have loved runs outside with baby K! She loves it, too!

With the nice weather, we have been taking advantage of the grill. Grilled food is THE BEST!

I am loving the family time, walks, waving to neighbors, cuddles and prayers with my girl, and seeing her learn and grow constantly.

She loves pointing to different animals, seeing the water, and laughing at puppies ehen they run by.

I am looking forward to making a fire and having s’mores tonight after dinner! Gosh, I love this weather SO much!!

I hope you all are finding positives in a hard situation!

All my love and hugs,
